Zack Martin Calf Injury
Everything you need to know about Zack Martin Calf Injury

Hey Fox Sports fans, Dr. Matt Provencher here. So injuries are starting to pile up for the Dallas Cowboys on this Thanksgiving day. But let's focus our attention on offensive linemen Zach Martin. Zach just left the game with a left lower extremity injury from my experience and taking a look at the video, especially when he's walking off the field and not moving that foot at all. It looks as though he might have aggravated a prior calf strain to his left lower extremity, although this could certainly be some other muscles or even a tweak to the need. It certainly looks like a calf injury, but we will wait for additional confirmation from the Dallas Cowboys organization, now if it is a calf injury it's usually that medial gastro igneous muscle, which is that very powerful muscle in the back area of calf that lineman need all the time to be able to push off the entire game because that is their job. As far as how much time Zack Martin will miss will depend on the severity of this type of calf strain. If it is such a calf strain is usually around three weeks, but could be a little bit longer because it takes a while for these to heal and could be even up to the six-week range for him to get back to full productivity. And that's because again they have to push off the whole time as an offensive lineman. When Zach comes back, we expect his productivity to actually be quite good. But given that this is a nagging injury, he's likely had a recurrence from his Week 11 injury report calf designation. This may be a decrease in his overall productivity, meaning a lesser snap percentage in snaps for Zach when he returns by about 10%. Zack, we wish you a speedy recovery.
